As a Volunteer Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting our team to provide high-quality child care and engaging, play-based learning experiences for children aged 2–5 years.
Working closely with our Early Years Practitioners, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive.
Your involvement may include leading and supporting a variety of activities such as imaginative play, storytelling, singing and music sessions, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, mark making, and basic food preparation.
Skills
Qualifications: Relevant Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential Experience: Working with children in an Early Years setting; Delivering a wide range of activities to children Knowledge: Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs; Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding/Child protection; Understanding of equality and diversity; Understanding of Health and Safety and safe working practices Essential Skills & Competencies: Ability to positively engage with children; Ability to deal positively with challenging behaviour; Excellent communication skills both written and verbally Personal Qualities: Strong affinity with Youth Options’ mission, vision and values; Committed; Supportive; Inspiring; Proactive and positive team player; Approachable; Able to maintain confidentiality at all times; Flexible and adaptable to different situationsDetails
