Day Activities Volunteers

The aim of the Day Activities Centre’s is to reduce social isolation, promote social interaction, provide respite, and support people to live independently through having a fun filled day. The service is suitable for older people with varying levels of care needs, including those who have a diagnosis of Dementia or Alzheimer’s. All staff are trained and DBS verified.


This role will include supporting the clients within a busy Day Activities centre to get the most out of their day, this could include helping them to take part in activities, support with nutrition and hydration, companionship and keeping active. We would welcome volunteers who are able to support between 10-4pm. Any hours in this period would be really beneficial.


Day Centres are currently running in central Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford and Botley.


Skills

Full training and guidance will be provided, you will be working alongside a strong team of staff. Please note all PPE required will be supplied. A DBS check is required before starting to volunteer at the Day Service.
