Drivers - Eastleigh

Hampshire County Council need volunteer drivers, using their own cars, across the whole of Hampshire to transport Adult and Children's Services clients

Volunteer drivers will need to complete an Occupational Health Form and an on the road driving assessment in their own car (expenses for which are reimbursed.) 

  • Induction training is provided before volunteers start transporting clients. 
  • Annual training is provided on the role of a volunteer driver. 
  • This includes topics such as safeguarding, health and safety, working with people with varying needs, safe transportation techniques and moving and handling. 
  • Volunteers gain experience in dealing with and communicating with a wide variety of people and working to set timescales.

Volunteer drivers must: 

  • Have good driving skills and enjoy working with people 
  • Be a good communicator and an excellent listener 
  • Have good organisational and timekeeping skills 
  • Have vehicle documentation/driving license checked annually

  • DBS check required
