Celebrating Volunteers!

4 July 2022

In June, we have a whole week celebrating volunteers!

One Community has a lot of active, interesting and committed volunteers from a variety of backgrounds. Their activities are different too. From driving one of our mini buses, painting a fence with a local group through to reading the newspaper for visually impaired people. In truth, we really like to have a wide range of opportunities to offer.

To celebrate the enormous amount volunteers give, we hold a certificate evening. Charities, voluntary led organisations and not for profits can nominate volunteers for an award. Ordinarily, we hold one event for Eastleigh area and one for the Fareham area. This year, we had so many volunteers nominated, we held two extra certificate events for Brendoncare and the Eastleigh Ghurkha and Nepalese Association.

Here are our BrendonCare volunteers,  delighted with their certificates, with the Eastleigh Mayor.

Here the Ghurkha volunteering awards and having a great time at their farm project.

We had a really good evening with all the Eastleigh nominated volunteers, held in the Velmore Community Centre in Chandlers Ford.

The Fareham volunteers were celebrated too in the Waypoint church building.

If you would like more information about volunteering, or would like to have some volunteers to help your charity or community group in the Eastleigh or Fareham areas please get in touch.
